Foundation Scholarship Program

Description

To honor Reid's passion for education, fitness, and leadership the Reid R Sacco Memorial Foundation awards scholarships in his memory to high school seniors demonstrating academic excellence, the pursuit of good health and physical fitness, excellent peer leadership, and outstanding character.

 Two scholarships were awarded in June 2008: 

Diana Traffletti, Lynnfield, MA.  Diana was a top student at Lynnfield High School, and very active in a variety of community service commitments.  She was an excellent athelete, excelling in track and soccer.  She also very active in music, particularly in choir.  She'll be attending Commonwealth College at UMass-Amherst, pursuing a career in nursing.

Catherine Rafferty-Millett, Marblehead, MA.  Catherine was a top student at Marblehead High School.  Catharine swam for Jamie the YMCA of the North Shore Sharks, and was All-Scholastic in swimming for both the Boston Globe and the Herald.  She will be attending Washington University, St. Louis, and is pursuing a career in medicine. 

2007Award

Two scholarships were awarded in June 2007: 

Kelly Cox, Lynnfield, MA.  Kelly was a top student and athlete at Lynnfield High School, with a passion for soccer and for helping others.  She'll be attending St. Anselm's College with aspirations for a career in nursing.

Jamie Mannion, Beverly, MA.  Jamie was a top student at St. John's Preparatory School, and a talented swimmer with the YMCA of the North Shore Sharkes.  He will be attending Harvard University in the Fall.

2006 Award

On June 2, 2006 the inaugural award of the Reid R Sacco Memorial Scholarship was given to graduating senior Cameron Abt of Lynnfield High School.  Mr. Abt graduated among the top ten in this year's class at LHS, and is attending Stevens Institute of Technology (New Jersey) pursuing a degree in engineering.
